“Quite nice little gem”
This is more for the big RVer than the camper but it is a nice stop. Close to downtown. Laundry is good but a little pricey. Park on the grass. Nice clean showers. RV Wash across the street. If you are not looking for hook ups the state park a few KMS away at chilkoot lake is good too

This is a very neat, clean and well-equipped campground. The rest rooms and laundry were very clean and well-equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in 60+ campgrounds over a 3 month trip and this was one of the best!

“4-day stay”

This was the very best RV park we have stayed in since arriving in the Yukon two months ago. We have traveled by RV all over Alaska and stayed in some pretty miserable excuses for RV parks. Haines Hitch-Up is excellent in every way. Incredibly clean laundry room with new washers, spotless everywhere, lawns well cared for and manicured, good hook up services and Wifi. This is absolutely the most wonderful park we've experienced yet. Walking distance to the very interesting town. We highly recommend it to any RVer.

This place is well kept and beautiful. The lawn looked like it should be on a golf course. Everything was spotless. The laundry was the best I've used in a long time. We stayed a week and found the staff very nice and helpful. Walking /biking distance to downtown Haines and Fort Seward. Adequate space between sites.

"Clean and well maintained"

Reasonably quiet RV park near downtown. All the spaces are on a well manicured lawn.

The showers are as clean as any I have seen in Alaska. The staff was friendly and the rates seemed fair.

The have a lot of different options with their rates.

This place is SO clean and tidy!

If this is how American Good Sam parks can be judged, then I will always use them. Pleasant staff, the park was as neat as a pin. The showers were so clean you could eat your dinner off them, and locked for guest security. They had extra hooks, hangers for your big outer coats, hair dryers and lots of room to move. Unmetered hot water is a luxury in RV parks! They had wifi included (for two devices only)which actually worked for a change. The park is very well kept, the grass is a sight to behold, not sure how all of the RV come and go and the grass stays so fresh and green.
The park provides free showers WIFI and cable TV.
We loved the park and stayed another day

If you want to be within walking distance of all the shops and museums, this is a great campground. The laundry and bathrooms are excellent! The campsites are next to the main road coming in to Haines, so there is road noise. For a back in site with full hook ups, we paid $45.37. There are no trees in the campground, but the sites are very clean.

What an excellant facility! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were in a motorhome towing, and stayed 5 nights. We were fortunate to be there the same time as the State Fair, which was so fun. Saw a momma brown and 2 cubs several days at Chilkoot Park. The eagles are everywhere, and gorgeous! Would stay here again - it was wonderful - from the grounds, upkeep, to the staff - the best we stayed in during our trip.

A FIVE-STAR FACILITY!!! Very well maintained park. Green grass, picnic table at site, clean laundry and facilities with very reasonable rates. The management was very accommodating and friendly. They recommended a few excursions we signed up for. First the Fjord Express to Juneau we relaxed, saw several whales and then did a bus tour to the Mendenhall Glacier where we saw a momma black bear with two cubs. We then ate at the Hangar on the Wharf and watched the water planes fly in. Next the Chilkat Guided river raft ride was filled with majestic scenery and a safari of wild life. We sat at the picnic table and watched eagles fly above. This was a dream vacation. There is so much to do and see. My recommendations: skip the cruise and take an RV or rent an RV and head to Haines Hitch Up RV Park for a week or two. It will be a journey of a life time!
