This place is SO clean and tidy!

If this is how American Good Sam parks can be judged, then I will always use them. Pleasant staff, the park was as neat as a pin. The showers were so clean you could eat your dinner off them, and locked for guest security. They had extra hooks, hangers for your big outer coats, hair dryers and lots of room to move. Unmetered hot water is a luxury in RV parks! They had wifi included (for two devices only)which actually worked for a change. The park is very well kept, the grass is a sight to behold, not sure how all of the RV come and go and the grass stays so fresh and green.
The park provides free showers WIFI and cable TV.

If you want to be within walking distance of all the shops and museums, this is a great campground. The laundry and bathrooms are excellent! The campsites are next to the main road coming in to Haines, so there is road noise. For a back in site with full hook ups, we paid $45.37. There are no trees in the campground, but the sites are very clean.

What an excellant facility! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were in a motorhome towing, and stayed 5 nights. We were fortunate to be there the same time as the State Fair, which was so fun. Saw a momma brown and 2 cubs several days at Chilkoot Park. The eagles are everywhere, and gorgeous! Would stay here again - it was wonderful - from the grounds, upkeep, to the staff - the best we stayed in during our trip.

A FIVE-STAR FACILITY!!! Very well maintained park. Green grass, picnic table at site, clean laundry and facilities with very reasonable rates. The management was very accommodating and friendly. They recommended a few excursions we signed up for. First the Fjord Express to Juneau we relaxed, saw several whales and then did a bus tour to the Mendenhall Glacier where we saw a momma black bear with two cubs. We then ate at the Hangar on the Wharf and watched the water planes fly in. Next the Chilkat Guided river raft ride was filled with majestic scenery and a safari of wild life. We sat at the picnic table and watched eagles fly above. This was a dream vacation. There is so much to do and see. My recommendations: skip the cruise and take an RV or rent an RV and head to Haines Hitch Up RV Park for a week or two. It will be a journey of a life time!

“Best Motorhome Park yet in Alaska”

Nice spacious RV Park with full hookups, very clean. Even some sights with 50 amps. Most have only 20 or 30 amps. Sights are level and nicely groomed and roomy and also a well maintained picnic table. Very accommodating people.

Close to town, in fact you can walk. Clean bathrooms and laundry. Certainly a 5 star.

Has free Wi-Fi and cable TV.

In 2008 we stayed here and we were back in the area, was no other place for us to ask. At the service, and the cleanliness and the well-kept facility, both inside and out, was able to keep on our trip no other place. (Although some were very good here.) There was also plenty of tips for activities. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but also value the fact that the Rules are complied with during the stay, which ultimately comes every benefit. The end of August is here certainly always a place to get. The price performance ratio, in our opinion also. Can recommend this place definitely in good conscience each.

“Great place t stay the night before getting on the ferry"

This is a very clean RV park with spacious sites within walking distance to downtown Haines and a few minutes drive to the Alaska State Ferry--which is very handy when you have to be at the ferry at 4:00 AM for a 7:00 departure. The staff is very friendly.

"A very recommendable camping"
The campground is located 5 minutes walk from downtown. The reception is very nice. All seats are relatively large and provided with a very well kept lawn. All services are available. The bathrooms are clean. This is the best campground of our trip to Alaska.

Already in the Visitor Center Park was spoken by the 5 star RV. And they are right! Total clean and well-maintained complex with many notes of do's and don'ts. But it makes an impact and everyone adheres to it. Well located and from 20:00 even totally quiet (roads are now little traffic). Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Place in September was to obtain readily. Sanitary facilities were very clean and well maintained. Each pitch with full hook-ups and a seating area. Place is highly recommended.
