This was our second RV park so we didn't have a lot to compare it too, when I asked in the office if all parks were like this another guest chipped in with a "no" Whilst it didn't have the views that some of the state parks had in the remote areas it did have all the facilities and was immaculate in every way. The owners were very helpful and tried to give us hints for further along our route, I think they spotted a couple of complete novices. From what we could see this is the place to stay in Haines and I highly recommend it. And on a side note if you are arriving by ferry as you disembark take the road to the right towards Chilkoot Lake ( the town is to your left) for great bear viewing.

We are new RV-ers and we came to Alaska in the early season (too early, in hindsight). The Hitch-Up let us stay with them even though they were still closed, something we really appreciated. The site is perfect, the facilities are spotless and the hosts are really friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time even though we were the only guests in their park.
When you stay with them, do visit the Haines brewery in Dalton City. This is in walking distance from the Hitch-Up, which is great as they make excellent beers and it means you do not have to worry about drinking a couple too many....

I love this park :) It''s very tidy and neat, and pretty quiet at that time of the year. Everything is kept ship shape in this park and we love coming here! I would recommend this to anyone RVing to Haines, AK as the place to stay with your RV. The best thing is that you can walk right to the centre of town and down to the water or over to Ft. Seward as everything is so close to the RV park.

We have traveled through a large portion of Alaska on this trip and must say hats off to the owners and crew of this park they do the best in the entire state. The grass is nice to see also super clean park and nice roads and very knowledgable staff. I only wish the rest of the parks in Alaska were kept to the standards set by this park. Keep up the good work. Thanks

“Clean facilities, close to downtown”
4 of 5 starsReviewed June 28, 2015

We stayed there for 2 nights in late May. The facilities were very clean and well maintained (showers and bathrooms). The staff was friendly. We were told that there were other RV parks in Haines with nicer views, but the good thing about this park is its proximity to downtown. We were a bit disappointed about the limited wifi access (we were only given 4 accesses although we were 7 people).

“Alaska Gem”

We hadn't been to Haines for many years but deciding where to stay wasn't a difficult decision to make having seen photos of the park and read reviews but mostly the quick and informative response(s) from Shirley (owner) welcoming us to the Haines Hitch-up RV Park. Our site was on the Haines Highway side of the park with an excellent view of the mountains. The park and restrooms are immaculate, staff is constantly ensuring visitors enjoy the cleanliness we all appreciate when traveling. We have traveled a considerable amount over the years and this is by far one of the best parks we've had the pleasure of staying in and will hopefully return often.

It is so peaceful and calm here, grounds immaculate and groomed, bathrooms and laundry room are 5 STAR and the staff Shirley, Fred, Karen, Dave and Jeff where wonderful to work with. Went on a couple of trips and Shirley set them up for us.

When you travel down to Haines (which was the best section of road we were on) there is a car and RV wash across the street so you may want to stop in first. Lots of room at the RV site which was level and neat and plenty of room for BBQ and sitting

and enjoying the weather.

Love this place it and it is the best one in town.

“Great stop!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here for 2 nights while doing the "circle tour" in our rented rv. After staying in government campgrounds for a few nights it was great to have amenities such as laundry and super clean bathrooms! Disappointed they don't allow campfires as that is an essential part of camping for me, but other than that it was fine. The property is well kept up, cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in an rv park, close to town so you can walk in. Beautiful views right from the campground. Haines was such a wonderful stop on the trip.

“Very nice, clean RVPark”

We stayed at the park after departing from the Alaskan Ferry. We camped in a smaller trailer and used the facilities. They were spotless and ample for the park visitors. Great laundry and friendly staff.

We drove from the east coast of the U.S. to Alaska and this was the cleanest, most well thought out R.V. park we visited. They literally thought of everything you could need while staying in an R.V. park and everything was immaculate.
